  1. Cut avocados in half, remove pit, and scoop flesh into a bowl.
  2. Add lime juice and salt. Mash with a fork to desired consistency.
  3. Fold in onion, cilantro, jalapeno, and garlic.
  4. Add diced tomato if using.
  5. Taste and adjust seasoning with more salt or lime if needed.
  6. Serve immediately with tortilla chips or as a spread.

Tips

  • Use ripe avocados that give slightly when pressed.
  • Press plastic wrap directly on surface to prevent browning if storing.
