Instructions

  1. Bring milk to a boil in a heavy-bottomed pan, stirring frequently.
  2. Add soaked and drained rice. Reduce heat to low.
  3. Simmer for 40-45 minutes, stirring occasionally, until rice is very soft and milk thickens.
  4. Add sugar and crushed cardamom. Stir well.
  5. Add saffron milk and mix.
  6. Cook for another 5 minutes until sugar dissolves.
  7. Remove from heat. Add rose water if using.
  8. Garnish with nuts and raisins. Serve warm or chilled.
